HOW TO HIRE MOTORBIKES FROM US IN HANOI
Hire motorbikes in Hanoi seems very easy. However, getting quality bikes and have professional support is not at all easy. A dishonest offer, hidden costs, and poor support can affect your whole trip in a negative way. Therefore, we created this website to help you out.
Welcome to the official homepage of Vietnam Motorbike Rental! a business of Offroad Vietnam Adventures. You landed on our page because you are
(1) looking for the rental of quality touring bikes and dirt bikes in Hanoi or
(2) wanting to hire an English speaking tour guide or even
(3) searching for a fully guided and supported Vietnam motorbike adventure.
Our customers
If you are good with manual clutch bikes then read on, but if you never ride a motorbike before then you might need to do a riding lesson or log out. Vietnam is really not a place to start your motorbike riding due to busy and scary traffic. Over 20 people die on the road every day, so motorbike riding experience is required. This means we don’t encourage beginners to experience Vietnam on two wheels!

How to hire motorbikes from us?
You probably knew or heard that Vietnam was a motorbike nation and every family had at least one motorbike? Yes, that’s true but scooters. When it comes to large touring bikes, Vietnam is not that sort of country to hire motorbikes. Based in Hanoi, Vietnam Motorbike Rental stands out as a professional outfit that specializes in only Japanese Honda off-road bikes, touring motorcycles and motor-scooters from 110cc to 250cc. We own, service, and prepare the bikes ourselves and never use Chinese copy cats or any other brands. Below are the steps we recommend to rent our bike(s). It’s always not easy to know who rents the better bikes from afar, so if you want to hear what some of our customers said about our bikes, please click here.
Step 1
Check and select which bike(s) you want to hire from this page.
Know your riding ability and check the posts below for types of bikes you can hire from us. Then contact us with your inquiry and questions for a quotation. Please include the below details in your inquiry:
– Rental dates;
– Length of rental;
– Type of rental bike;
– Your riding experience (beginner, novice, intermediate or experienced);
– Your mechanic basics;
Step 2
Send a deposit to secure your booking.
Step 3
Plan a rough itinerary, buy a good map, and travel books. You should ride on average no more than 200km/day. Traffic here is crazy, the speed limit is low (60km/h maximum). If you have any questions or want more trip ideas then feel free to ask us.
Step 4
Come to our office at least a day before to finalize the paperwork, payments, sort out riding gear, itinerary, tool kit, spare parts, and have final questions answered. We provide honest and practical tips, advice, and suggestion.
Commencing your ride
We are open from 8am to 5pm every day, except Sunday. If you pick up your rental bike(s) on Sunday we need an appointment. You will need at least 30 minutes to check the bike(s), tie your bag and get ready to ride.
Returning your bike(s) is also the same hours. Even we don’t offer 24-hour, returning the next day before 10am is free of charge, no extra payment needed.
Note when you hire motorbikes from our shop
Many people just showed up and wanted a bike. Sometimes it worked but most of the time it didn’t. We want you to have safe and enjoyable journeys so booking and careful preparation are required. Normally, we book bikes on the “first paid first booked” basis which means when you book early, you will have the better bike(s). From our experience, hiring bikes in a hurry is not a good idea, too rush.
What bike is the best for you?
Well, it all depends on where you ride, your skills, your size, and your budget. Our fleet is from 50cc scooters to 250cc dual enduro and you can find one for your need.
To know which motorbike/scooter is the best for you, please watch the below video. For more videos, you can visit our YouTube channel.

Hello,
I ask you kindly availability of prices for 3 motorcycles rent, from 5th August to 22th August. 2 automatic + 1 manual or semi-automatic motorbike with space behind for tie backpack.

We ask also help to get out from Hanoi’s traffic, direction Mai Chau.
Eventually, there is the possibility of having a guide for our itinerary?
Thanks in advance,

Dear Filippo,
Thank you for contacting us.
Yes, we do have the bikes available for you. To make sure you have bikes when you come, we would like to have bikes booked and paid for before they are not available. If you wait until you arrive in Hanoi then there is no guarantee that the bikes you want are available. We will send instructions if you agree to proceed. You can pay with credit cards online, Western Union cash transfer or even a traditional bank transfer.
Below are bikes we rent. Choose one that works best for you, of course, the bigger the better. On the other hand, the newer the more reliable.

On a semi-guided trip, in addition to bike rental costs above you have a Vietnamese local who is a guide, a mechanic and a translator. He speaks excellent English and also takes care of the routes and helps with food and hotel arrangement. He’s a real bonus to the whole experience. His salary + his bike is 100$US/day and this cost will be shared among riders in your group. You pay him fuel, accommodation and food during the trip.
Hi,
We are keen to do a month-long loop. Open to suggestions but perhaps south down Vietnam, into Cambodia, Thailand and up through Laos back to Hanoi. We are experienced riders. We do a trip a year. Last couple of years we have been in Africa. Recent years we have been on DR650s and GS800s. Realise the bikes are smaller in SE Asia. I am just doing the initial pipe dreaming but I would envisage minimum 4 riders – max 6. Travel time – would seek your advice there. Tend to avoid riding wet roads if we can help it. Preferred roads are the Bs – not that excited about sealed highways although I’d imagine there would be some great roads off the main routes in SE Asia.
Ah what else? Yes all have full motorbike licences. We would bring all gear. Reasonable mechanical knowledge but wouldn’t want to take anything where arts and minor repairs are overly painful.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers, Murray
Hello Murray. We operate in Vietnam only and don’t assist in any other countries. Sadly, at this point we can’t offer what you wanted to do.
Hi,
I am going on a 2 day trip to cat ba on Monday. Can I rent a manual bike from you. I am an experienced driver. What are my options? Do I pick the bike up at your store or do you drop it off? Also, do we pay cash and is there a deposit needed?
Hello Peter. Sorry we don’t rent bikes to ride to Cat Ba, only deadly highways so I suggest to use public buses instead. It’s just too short and too risky for only two days. I am sorry for any inconvenience.
Hi would like to rent a motorcycle for my vietnam trip. I have a motorcycle licence and I drove last year in Vietnam. I am very experienced.
